A native of Charlotte, Mr. Adams was born to the late Ralph Edward Adams and Nancy Winters Adams on June 17, 1941. He was a member of Providence Road Baptist Church in Harrisburg and served in the Army National Guard for six years. Mr. Adams enjoyed wood working, working in his yard, playing golf and he loved boating at Lake Norman.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Sandra Gilbert Adams; children, Laura Adams Smith and husband Barney of Gastonia, Timothy Bryan Adams and wife Angela of Sumter, SC; grandchildren, Ethan, Jacob and Caleb Adams; step-grandchildren, Michael and Gabriel Smith.
A memorial service will be held 2:00p.m., Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in the chapel at Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Rd., Charlotte. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
