

Mrs. Elizabeth Porter Black, 75 of Lake Norman, passed on Thursday, March 23, 2017 peacefully with her family beside her. Elizabeth was born July 7, 1941 in Mecklenburg, County to the late Ervin Porter and Doris Jordan Brown.
Elizabeth “Liz” was wonderful person and she never met a stranger. Her smile would make the room brighter and everyone could feel her Love.
She especially loved children. She took care of so many people that, now that they are grown, feel that Liz is their mother, aunt, and best friend.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack David Black and son, Glenn Richard Black.
Liz is survived by, Doris Brown of Charlotte; her loving companion of 13 years, Ted Ervin Horton; her daughter, Deborah Black of Lake Norman; two grandchildren, Rebecca Black Foster and husband Charlie of McAdenville, North Carolina and Angela Black of Charlotte, North Carolina; one great granddaughter, Claira Childers of McAdenville, North Carolina; two sisters, Linda Luther and Sandra Jennings. And host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Pastor Steve Jessen will be the officiating.
Family will receive friends at the home of her mother, Doris Brown immediately following the service.
