Mrs. Craig was a true lady. She was a neat dresser, hair never out of place, and always kind. I first met her about 55 years ago when she, Mr. Craig & the boys  joined Hickory Grove United Methodist Church. The Craigs' were seasoned MYF counselors from Durham. I introduced myself and ask them to be our MYF counselors. They did and became second parents to me as well as many others. She was always happy to have any of us come by their home as teens do.  Mr. Craig was the one who stood out the most you would say, but Mrs. Craig was always there supporting him and all of us. We girls especially learned alot by the example she set. Mrs. Craig also sang in the choir and had the most beautiful alto voice. She loved music and dancing. As I grew older she remained a dear friend, someone I confided in and sought advice from. Joe & I both have been missing her for some time now as our phone calls lessened. She was always thankful for Steve and all he did for her. "I just don't know what I would do without Steve" she would say. Steve, you were so good to her. She was fortunate to have you, but then you were raised by the best of parents.  Thank you Mrs. Craig. We know you will be singing with the angel choir. Debbie & Joe Michalic

Betty was a bright light in the HGUMC family, and especially in the Choir when she sang!  She will be missed and remembered!
