Ernest Rodman

Angels in heaven rejoiced as Ernest Franklin Rodman of Charlotte, born in and formerly a long-time resident of Elkhart, Indiana, went home to the Lord on February 13, 2018. Ernie was a man of faith, a husband, father, grandfather and a proud Vietnam veteran.

He is survived by Connie Rodman, his wife of 47 years. They were blessed with three surviving children, Timothy Rodman (Benjamin Mourad) of Knoxville, MD, Tanya Rodman (Amy Glibert) of Alexandria, VA and Cynthia VanHoughton (Matthew) of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Jacob, Summer and Sophia and two grandchildren to be born soon, Matthew Jr. and Cooper, as well as a brother, Keith (Linda) Rodman and several nieces/nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Wava (Miller) Rodman, a brother, Dale (Diane) Rodman and an infant daughter, Toni Lee. He worked the majority of his life for A & N Distributors in Elkhart.

The officiant is Pastor Christopher Thayer of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Zoar Road.

Visitation will be from 10:00-noon Saturday, February 17th, at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte with funeral immediately following. Burial will be at Cemetery of the Good Shepherd following the service.
