Fay Elizabeth Rayner

Fay graduated from Lake Lure High School in 1942. She moved to Charlotte in 1950 to work for Southern Bell and met the love of her life and married Floyd Rayner in 1954. She was a member of First Baptist Church and devoted her life to being a home maker, caring for her mom, dad, husband and children.

Fay was predeceased by her loving husband, Floyd William Rayner; siblings John Paul Wilson, Georgia Ellen Cofer, Billy Charles Wilson and William Buddy Wilson. She is survived by her children Shirley Rayner Hayes, Cynthia Elizabeth Rayner, Floyd William Rayner, Jr. (Julie); grandchildren Davy Grace Rayner, Elizabeth Lure Rayner; brother Harold Wilson Jr. (Marlene).

Visitation will take place at McEwen Funeral Service, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte on Friday, November 30, 2018 beginning at 1:00pm. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00pm. Interment will take place at Sharon Memorial Park.

Our family would like to thank the staff at Mercy Hospital for the compassionate care they gave to our Mom.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Bill’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1475 Bill’s Creek Rd, Lake Lure, NC 28746.
