Faye Smith Johnston, age 93 on Saturday, October 21, 2023 left her broken mind, worn out body and ran straight into the arms of Jesus. She was born to the late Lonnie and Sudie Smith on January 1, 1930 in South Carolina.
First and foremost in Faye's life was her faith. She inspired many with her knowledge and examples. Her love of family was known and felt by all.
She was so often described by so many as "the sweetest woman I've ever met". She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and grace. What a beautiful way to be remembered.
Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Don Johnston; sons Robert Kirk and Jack Utley. She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Brooks (Mike); grandchildren Shawn Hudson (Nikki), Michael Roberts (Maria), Daniel Kirk (Farrin), Justin Scott Kirk, Jason Utley, Candice Ronquist, Rick Utley and Cammie Utley.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at McEwen Funeral Service, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte beginning at 1pm. Funeral Service will follow at 2pm. Interment will take place at Sharon Memorial Park.
