Florilee "Flo" McKnight Ladd

Florilee McKnight Ladd, 86, passed away on April 7, 2015, at CMC Mercy hospital after struggling with many health issues throughout these past few years. Flo had been residing at Sharon Towers prior to her death.

Flo was born July 15, 1928, in Bennettsville, SC, daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Lorimer McKnight. She grew up in SC and graduated from USC Columbia, where she met her late husband, John Albert Ladd Jr. After graduation she married and taught school for years before becoming a stay at home mother. She was a loving, devoted wife and a caring, dedicated parent of 3 children who today are blessed with such an amazing mother.

A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday April 13, 2015, at Sharon Presbyterian Church, followed by a reception at Sharon Towers from 3:00-5:00 pm.

She is survived by her children, John A. Ladd III; Deborah L. Koller; Karen L. Ladd; as well as her grandchildren, Natalie L. Barbour and John D. Wheeler. Her great grandchildren in survivorship are Prescott Wheeler, Gwenyth Wheeler, Christopher Barbour, and Olivia Barbour. In addition are close family members, Brian, Joann, Brianna, and Weston McKnight.

Family was the most important thing to her in addition to her church, Sharon Presbyterian. She was active in church Circle and supported the church’s charities.

Flo was a beautiful person inside & out and loved by many. Her sweet, kind, and caring disposition was portrayed throughout her life and touched many. She was a mastermind at the bridge table and avid reader. She enjoyed traveling and was able to see many places in this world and loved her Friday night dinners with the neighbors. The comradery of fellowship with friends or family was always important to her.

She will be greatly missed but her lovely spirit will remain with us.
