Frances Jeannette Nicholson

Frances Jeannette Nicholson, age 76, passed peacefully with loved ones by her side at Carrington Place Matthews on Friday, February 7, 2014. A native of Charlotte, she was born on July 11, 1937 to the late Charlie William O’Shields and Gertrude Beatrice Allison O’Shields. Mrs. Nicholson grew up in the Glenwood Community, attended Enderly Park Baptist Church and graduated from Charlotte city school in 1955. She retired from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools after twenty one years of service as a Cafeteria Manager at McKee Road Elementary.

A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, February 11th at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, with Rev. Warren Nance officiating. Following the graveside service, family and friends are invited to the funeral home for refreshments.

Mrs. Nicholson is survived by her husband of fifty nine years, Henry John Nicholson, Jr.; a daughter, Susan Lynn Davis and husband Dave, of Rockingham; three sons, Dr. Henry John Nicholson, III and wife Kay, of Seneca, SC, Charles Allan Nicholson and wife Janice, of Forest City, David Andrew Nicholson and wife Melissa, of Morton, IL; a sister, Edna Nussman, of Matthews and grandchildren Jennifer, Jodie, Jordan, Kyle, Allison, Kathleen, Cole, Shelby, Piper, Luke, Mack

and a great-grandson, Patrick.
