Fred Lonnie Herrin

Born October 23, 1944 in Charlotte, NC, he was the son of Fred L. Herrin, Sr. and Betsy Hawkins Herrin. He graduated from West Mecklenburg High School in 1963. He then went on to join the Marine Corp Reserves and afterwards started a career at Southern Bell.

Fred was an avid collector of many things. He also enjoyed spending time with family and attending the many special moments in their lives.

Fred is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia A. Herrin, three children, Anthony "Tony" Herrin (Shannon), Laura Herrin and Christopher Herrin all of Charlotte. One grandchild, Anthony "A.J." Herrin, Jr. (Karyn), one great-grandchild, Anthony "Tripp" Herrin, III and many nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Fred's life will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, July 6, 2024 at McEwen Funeral Service - Pineville Chapel, 10500, Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 11:00 AM.
