Fred Thomas Teal, Sr., age 99, of Sandy Spring, MD, died Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at Friends Nursing Home in Sandy Spring. Fred is the beloved of Frances Alexander Teal; loving father of Fred T. Teal, Jr. (Teresa Meeks) and Jean-Anne Teal; grandfather of Walter, Kevin, Alex and Tommy; great grandfather of Jasmine, Gregory, John Paul and Angel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Baxter Randolph and Jennie Rivers of Hoffman, NC; and siblings, Gene, Julia, Dorothy, Wilson and J.B.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at 2:00 pm at Providence Presbyterian Church, 10140 Providence Church Lane, Charlotte, NC, 28277. A visitation will be held the same day from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Service - Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC, 28210. Interment will be held in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the church.
