

A 1959 graduate of Marion High School, she worked for various attorneys throughout the Charlotte area. Gail was known for being an avid golfer, for her loving spirit, and for her devotion to Skylar, her pet schnauzer.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Truitt Long; and is survived by her brother, William D. Waycaster, and his wife, Carolyn, of Kingsport, TN; and two nephews, William D. Waycaster, Jr. and wife, Kathy, of Calara, AL and Stephen Waycaster and wife, Beth, of Knoxville, TN.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Comfort Keepers, her home care agency; Hospice & Palliative Care, Charlotte Region; and Dr. Garner of Presbyterian Pulmonology and Critical Care.
A service to celebrate Gail’s life will be held at noon on Monday, January 28th in the chapel of Harry & Bryant. Private interment will be in Sharon Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to a charity of the donor’s choice.
