

George Marshall Johnson, born on July 26, 1950, in Raleigh, North Carolina, and raised in Four Oaks, North Carolina, passed away on May 21, 2025. A proud graduate of East Carolina University, George was an active and dedicated member of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity, a community he cherished and and supported throughout his life.
After graduating, George began his career at Xerox, where he was a gifted salesman who loved people. Throughout his business career, George excelled and owned many companies, with a special focus on the copier business, which evolved into word processing. Beyond sales, George was also an author and involved in financial services. Most recently, he served as a business consultant in the custom furniture and legal services industries.
George's charm, handsomeness, and zest for life endeared him to everyone he met.
George leaves behind his beloved life partner, Amy Gilbert Gerard; his daughter, Elizabeth Johnson Pesakoff (Bobby); his sons Jonathan Ryan Johnson (Britt), Chase Hagan Johnson, and Robert Dylan Johnson; his grandchildren, Sophie, Lilly, and Ruby Pesakoff, as well as Ronin James Johnson; his stepchildren, Lee Gerald Miller (Mike), Anna Gerard (Benton Stegman) and Hodges Gerard; and his step granddaughter, Emerson.
George was a man who touched many lives with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit. He was a loyal and true friend to many whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
