Grace Clark Harton

Mrs. Harton, age 97, of Waxhaw passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011 at White Oak Manor.

She was born May 3, 1914 in charlotte, North Carolina the daughter of the late James F. and Annie Black Clark. Preceding her in death are her husband, W. H. Harton; sister, Eunice Allen; brother, Paul Clark, and daughter, Phyllis Lewis.

Mrs. Harton was a native Charlottean and attended the Charlotte public schools. She was a charter member of Dilworth United Methodist Church. She retired from Krispy Kreme Corporation and Simons Cracker Company.

Surviving are her granddaughter, Jennifer Arant and her husband Tommy Arant, Jr.; a precious great grandson, Tommy Nelson Arant III, all of Marshville, NC; great nephew, Johnny "Jay" F. Allen, Jr., his wife Allison and sons, Zachary and Jacob Allen; and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.

The family would like to thank Callena Sturdivant, Ruth Inman and Sam Inman for their special care of Grace.
