

Harry Berzack of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away at age 79, surrounded by his family, after a valiant struggle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Johannesburg, South Africa to Maurice and Sylvia Berzack, and was the oldest of three children.
Harry had a brilliant mind and earned advanced University degrees, ranging from Commerce to Accounting to Law. He spent his early years working in the family needle trade/ sewn products industry in South Africa before immigrating to the United States and continuing the family business in Charlotte in 1981. He devoted his life to his work and was known as one of the titans in his industry. He was an avid collector of antique sewing machines and spent countless hours cataloging and researching each machine. He also had a passion for gardening, patiently tending to plants with great joy. Harry had a deep appreciation for all of life’s offerings and enjoyed traveling, visiting different countries and experiencing vibrant cultures.
Harry was a religious man and was a long-term congregant of the Ohr HaTorah Congregation. Tied to Harry’s devotion to Judaism, was his daily concern for the welfare of the State of Israel. To this end, he generously donated to a host of Jewish charities and agencies.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother and is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Felicity; son, Kevin Berzack and wife Laurie; daughter, Nicole Keylin and husband David; grandsons, Nathan, Marc and Mitchell; brother, Myron Berzack and wife Sylvia; brother, Robert Berzack and wife Rhona; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the following organizations: United States Holocaust Museum, Israel Defense Forces, American Society for Yad Vashem, AIPAC, Chabad of Charlotte – Ohr HaTorah, Israel Cancer Research Fund and/or Wounded Warrior Project.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, November 1, 2021 at Ohr HaTorah, 6619 Sardis Rd., Charlotte, NC with Rabbi Yossi Groner officiating.
