He was born the 27th of March, 1932 in Binghampton, New York and served in the United States Army. Harry worked numerous places during his career: hauling heavy equipment with O. L. Nixon Co., Hill Truck Rental, Scandura Inc., E.C. Manufacturing and lastly with the City of Charlotte Parks & Recreation Department where he enjoyed being in the outdoors.
A Graveside service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, the 6th of January, 2026 at Forest Lawn West Cemetery with The Reverend Chris Baucom officiating and military honors.
Harry is survived by his three children: Harry Douglas Sidway, Jr. and his wife, Linda of Locust, NC; Martin Clay Sidway and his wife, Donna of Charlotte, NC and Hazel S. Rigdon and her husband, Lloyd of Gold Hill, NC; 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Martin Sidway and a grandson, Dylan Ferguson.
