Harvey Mark Mabel

Born July 9, 1958 in Charlotte, Harvey was a graduate of South Mecklenburg High School’s Class of 1976. He retired from a twenty-year career in the U.S. Navy where he played in the Navy band, excelling in piano and saxophone.

Harvey is remembered for his love for animals which was evident through his generosity in their care. He is also remembered for his gentle spirit and his acceptance of his final illness, never once complaining.

He is survived by his brother, Bryant Mabel; and his much-loved canine companion, Bud.

His parents, Dan and Sylvia Minnick Mabel, and a brother, Karl, preceded him in death.

Friends are invited to gather from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 24th at Harry & Bryant, 500 Providence Road to celebrate his life. Interment with military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 25th at the National Cemetery in Salisbury.
