Heidi’s life began on June 6th, 1967, when she was born to Clyde and Lorraine Phillips in Wiesbaden, Germany. She spent her early life in Willingboro, New Jersey, where she was educated in the Willingboro Township School System. Upon completion of high school, she attended Burlington County College. She completed her studies there and returned to Willingboro, where she started working with teenage mothers mentoring them on motherhood and life. A few of these women kept in touch with her until her passing. After leaving, she started working in the adult special needs medical field; she enjoyed her work so much and loved every client she worked with.
As you may have noticed, Heidi’s passion was fashion; she was the biggest girly girl God ever created. Her style and grace commanded attention when she glided into a room wearing 6-inch heels. There was no outfit, ensemble, or sweatsuit in which she did not look fabulous; wow, what a beautiful woman! The room lit up when she entered and dimmed when she left.
In 2008, Heidi reconnected with Michael Bowe, her husband. Heidi and Michael bonded over their love for each other, music, movies, travel, and sports (she was forced). As she settled in Charlotte, she continued working in the special needs field, where she worked for Life Span Incorporated for 11 years. In 2017 she returned to school and earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She was so full of wisdom; she was insightful on many different topics. When she left a conversation, she left the person in awe.
She retired in 2020 and began to spend more time on her other passion, cooking; every conversation she had started or ended with a food reference. Anyone who had the opportunity to taste one of her many exquisite dishes was left wanting more and wished they had a bottomless pit so they would not have to stop eating. Selfishness was not part of her personality; she would give her time to speak with anyone who needed encouragement.
Heidi is survived by her husband Michael. Her sisters Michelle (Bill) and Donna, her brother Darryl (Sarita); her nieces Heidi and Erika; her nephews Bobby, Brandon, Ryan, David, and Ralphie; her Sister’s In-Law Patricia (Trevalyn), Kimberly, Janet (Walter), her stepsons Aaron, Darryl and Damian, her grandson Isaiah, her special cousin/sister Tracy and a host of family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Lorraine Phillips, her sister Valerie, and brother Don.
Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers for Heidi and her family.
