Helen Marie Lewis Stephens

A native of Covington, Virginia, Ms. Stephens was born to the late James D. Lewis and Myrtle Vest Lewis on November 22, 1936. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a former member of Sunset Road Baptist Church. Ms. Stephens was a former co-owner of Queen Size Clothing. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Joshua Patterson of Clifton Forge, VA, one sister and two brothers.

Ms. Stephens is survived by her four children, Leona Patterson and husband Monroe of Clifton Forge, VA, Greg Stephens and wife Beverly, Gary Stephens and wife Toni and Gail S. Arrington all of Charlotte; sister, Phyllis Kounce of Richmond, VA; brother, Charles Lewis of Charlotte; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held 11:00a.m., Saturday, August 13 in the chapel at McEwen Funeral Service, Derita with the Rev. Steve Bass officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

Ms. Stephens's family would like to extend a special thank you to all the nurses and staff at Presbyterian Hospital on 5A, the Harris Hospice Unit and Dr. Wyatt Fowler for caring for Helen for the last eight months of her life.
