Helen Isbill Talbott

He was born October 14, 1926 in Maryville, TN to Charles E. and Murtice M. Smith Talbott. He proudly served his country in the US Army. After his receiving his Honorable Discharge he worked as an Engineer for Bell South for 38 years. During that time he served as a Deacon and an Athletic Director for Hickory Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed boating, waterskiing and spending time with his family and friends.

Ben is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Helen I. Talbott; his three daughters, Conchita T. Shelton of Harrisburg, Angela T. Allen (Kim) of Davidson, Beverly T. Lawhon (Kevin) of Ft. Mill, SC, his son, Benny C. Talbott (Renee) of Mint Hill; three grandchildren, Jamey I. Shelton, Kelly C. Allen, Logan R. Talbott; his five sisters, Edna F. Kidd of Knoxville, TN, Louise Everett of Maryville, TN, Jane Plumblee of Chattanooga, TN, Grace Early of Denver, CO, Barbara Burns of Talbott, TN.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Kenneth Talbott, Hoyt Talbott and a son-in-law, Robert L. Smith.

The celebration of Ben’s life will take place, Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 6050 Hickory Grove Road with Pastor John Harrill officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
