December 19, 1929 – June 6, 2025
Helene Hardy Siler was born on December 19, 1929, one of four children of the late Pachión “Noble” Jackson. She and her family relocated from Farmville, North Carolina, to New York City in 1936. All her siblings have preceded her in death.
Helene graduated from The School of Industrial Art in 1949. She eventually settled in Brooklyn, New York, where she began her working life. It was there she met and married the love of her life, Bob, in 1960. Together, they built a life in Queens, New York, and lovingly raised four children.
Helene lived a quiet and fulfilling life, generously helping to care for her grandchildren. She had a passion for cooking, crocheting, and, of course, her favorite soap operas. In 1996, Helene and Bob moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, where she continued to be a devoted wife, mother, and beloved "Nana."
She is survived by her children: Donna (Jason), Bobby, Richard (Deborah), and Beverly (Rhamel); her grandchildren: Danita, Darcelle, Danay, Shaquan, Tiffany, Richard, Desiree, Justin, and Danielle; her great-grandchildren: Shanice, Shanté, Kenneth, Kendell, and Kendrik; and her great-great-grandchild, Gianna.
Helene’s warmth, quiet strength, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
