after 12 childless years we asked pastor mirly to pray with us for healing of infertility. within a short time, he baptized baby kristin. he continues to be a part of our lives and our family and we will see him again!

I moved to Charlotte in the fall of 1975 and was looking for a church. Several times, within a few days,  someone told me about this wonderful church called Resurrection Lutheran. They said you had to get there early for the 6 o'clock Wednesday night service in order to get a seat. I went, and as I walked into the little sanctuary, I saw a cloud filling the whole place and heard singing but couln't understand the language. That was the beginning of my journey at Resurrection. I grew in my new faith, made many friends which I have to this day. The Word taught, the worship, the contemporary liturgy. I loved it all. I was at church so much that I felt I should just camp out in the parking lot. What do I remember about Pastor Mirly. So many things. His love for the Lord, for His Word, for worship. I can still see him in his robes, cross going up and down as he jumped to "I wish I were a Butterfly" and "Father Abraham." Delores and family, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Linda Rhyne

I want to express my sympathy in your loss. Back in the 70's and for many years, Pastor Mirly showed me the way in a personal relationship with the Lord and made me "thirsty" and helped satisfy that thirst through his teaching and preaching and counsel. Even though he is gone, what he ministered to me and many others cannot be lost. I am so thankful for him and the difference he made in my life. I look forward to seeing him again!

Pastor Mirly once gave me counsel that became a guiding principle of my life. Upon seeking direction about a dilemma and problem I faced at work, he advised me to turn the "problem" into a "project", which set all my creative juices flowing. The "problem" became a great occasion for witnessing and honoring the Lord!  I will never forget him.

Mirly Family, Pastor Mirly meant so much to Bob and me as we began the Metrolina Prayer Network and then Charlotte Awake.  He gave us great encouragement and wisdom and was truly a Spiritual Father to Charlotte NC as well as to us.  He will be greatly missed.

Of all the people I have encountered in my adult life Pastor Mirly was probably the most influential.  The impact he had on the lives of young Christians in the 1970's was nothing short of miraculous.  I know that I would not be the person I am today had it not been for his nurturing and spiritual guidance.  His influence will not end with his passing, it will continue in the lives of those he touched and in the lives we touch. 

My thoughts and prayers are with family.

It had to have been at least twenty years ago when Pastor Mirly visited us at Messiah Lutheran Church one evening.  It was for a healing service.  My wife Harriet and I along with other members witnessed Pastors wonderful Gift Of Healing when he lengthened a ladies shorter leg to be even with the other.

This was an example of how God had belssed Pastor Mirly.

Pastor Mirly was a special man of God- who encouraged and made room for the Holy Spirit, a tremendous legacy. He married my husband and I and prayed with us as we grieved the loss of children. My heartfelt sympathy to the Mirly family.  I received the richest blessing of my life at the home of Pastor and Mrs,  Mirly,  He had a full and rich life,  My mother,Margaret Mangieri was a member of his church here on earth and now both are members of the greatest church in heaven.

Pastor Mirly was possibly the greatest spiritual influence in our lives... discipling us and even marrying us. He was one of a kind.

I pray the Lord's comfort for the entire Mirly family. Pastor Mirly was a great teacher of the Word and very obedient to God's will. He performed our wedding ceremony in 1975 and led many of us into new life with the Holy Spirit. God especially bless Delores as she mourns her husband. I know my Herb is welcoming Herb Mirly into the heavenly band.

I have many fond memories of pastor Mirly,but one that sticks out is when I met him in the early 70's,I was a young rebellious teen,who had chosen to believe that maybe God didn't exist....so I am forced to go to this 6pm service in Charlotte and I saw the love and power of God in this man and his wife! It was several years later that I had an saving encounter with Jesus,but pastor Mirly planted some good seed in me! Have spent time with him over the years and have always been blessed by his life and example! Look forward to seeing him again!

What a wonderful man has left this world who will be always
remembered as a truly blessed leader for his congregations.
True, there are tears, it is hard to say goodbye.  The ministry,
his wife Dolores and the family are honorable people and
our deepest sympathy is extended to his family and those
others who will be honoring his life with the memorial service.

We now live in Tucson, AZ away from our family close by in Matthews.
Our gifts and memories of Reserrection, the weddings, baptisms,
learning that our sins are forgiven with the ritual and communion
services and the activities of the youth group are warming the cockles
in our hearts and we thank all for precious memories.

Pastor Mirly meant more to me than words can express, and I am filled with all sorts of wonderful happy memories of him. I pray God will comfort you all in your time of loss. I read this scripture this morning, and I thought it applied so well to Pastor Mirly and his family. It's Psalm 112: 1-2 (CJB) -- "Halleluyah! How happy is anyone who fears ADONAI, who greatly delights in His mitzvot. His descendants will be powerful on earth, a blessed generation of upright people."

May God bless and comfort you with His love.

To the Mirly family:  I remember telling Pastor Mirly that he was faithful in his service to the Lord and he told me, "God is the one who is faithful".  I rejoice with Pastor as he is in the presents of our Lord and King, worshipping before His throne.  I have many years of fond memories of Pastor and his teaching of God's word that he planted deep in my heart.  I am saddened that we will not see him for awhile, but rejoice that we will see him again!  Your family are in my prayers and may the Holy Spirit comfort you.

Greg and I want to extend our condolences to the entire Mirly family.  I have wonderful memories of Pastor Mirly, as we were some of his 70's hippies he loved and taught  the Truth to.   My oldest, Daniel thought Pastor WAS Jesus for a long time when he was young.  My heart hurts for your loss but I know he was welcomed with "Well done my good and faithful servant..."   We will always remember him with love and gratitude.

Katherine and I want to express our condolences to all of you on this sad occasion.  But many pleasant memories of Pastor Mirly will always remain with us, especially the love of God and the Scriptures which he instilled in us by his example.

Pastor Mirly performed our wedding on June 9, 1979 at RLC - one of three ceremonies which he did that day.  It was a typical Saturday for him, as most of you will recall.  We still remember his message to us on that day.

May the Lord's comfort and blessings be with you.
