She is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Joyce Diggs; her maternal grandfather, Ken Stevens; and her maternal great-grandmother, Reba Stevens.
Holly was a lifelong devoted Christian and loved Jesus Christ. Her parents fondly remember her witnessing to other children at the age of five asking if they know Jesus.
Holly went completely deaf at age 14 but several months later returned to Gastonia Christian in Lowell where she continued to excel academically receiving multiple academic awards as well as winning her school spelling bee twice. Her health soon started to decline and she was unable to attend her graduation so her graduating class hand-delivered her diploma to her home and it was presented to her by the high school principal as she lay in a hospital bed. After high school, Holly’s dream was to become a neonatal nurse. However; furthering her education wasn’t possible. Holly was fearless and never complained which made her truly unique and a joy to all who knew her. Holly was truly the happiest when surrounded by family and friends.
She is survived by her parents Mark and Julie Diggs, her paternal grandfather, Jay Diggs; maternal grandmother, Brenda Stevens; aunts and uncles David Stevens, Eve Herte (Sean) Cameron Herte and Walker Herte, Kenny Diggs, Ernie Diggs (Kerri) Jay Diggs and Shannon Diggs; godfather Rev. Robert Allred, and a special aunt, Jean “Maw-Maw” Jean Crenshaw, her two best friends Hannah Bonisa and Hannah Fisher.
