Ilse Klara Johnston

Ilse Klara Johnston, age 88, of Pineville, NC passed away in peace on Thursday, May 5, 2022. Ilse was born August 21, 1933. She was born in Zwickau, Germany, where she spent her adolescent years and in 1944 migrated to Creglingen in western Germany escaping Soviet occupation. She later met and married her loving husband, Fred Johnston, in Regensburg while he was serving in the US Army. She was a loving mother and dedicated wife and is survived in cherished memory by: Son, Bill Johnston; daughters, Cindy Martin and Connie Baci, including four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A graveside memorial service will be held at Crown Memorial Park, 9620 Rodney Street, Pineville, NC 28134 on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Quail Hollow Presbyterian Church, 8801 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210.
