

Mary Inez Reid Cox died peacefully at her home at Legacy Heights on Monday evening, August 20, 2012. Mrs. Cox was born in Charlotte September 28, 1928 to Clayton and Louise Reid. She was a graduate of Harding High School, class of 1946. Mrs. Cox was a former administrative employee of the VA and of the FBI, where she met and married the late Guy Hill Cox. She was a longtime member of Mouzon United Methodist Church and was an active member of the UMW.
Mrs. Cox was best known for her generosity towards all, and her quiet and joyful service to others, especially her family. She was a devoted daughter who tirelessly cared for her mother and step-father through their final years. She was an example of grace and unconditional love for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She continued to be a model of kindness and graciousness at Merrywood and at Legacy Heights. At her death, she was surrounded by those who were touched by her love and warm spirit. The Lord is well pleased to welcome home His humble servant.
Mrs. Cox is survived by her son, David, his wife, Susan, and their daughters, Kelly and Ashley, and her daughter, Marion, her husband, Michael, and their children, Allen, Brendan, Katherine, and her husband, Fitz.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Mouzon United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 am prior to the service. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Cox’s family would like to express their profound gratitude to the staff at Legacy Heights, Hospice, and Visiting Angels.
