Born April 20, 1934 in Mecklenburg County, Mr. Edwards was a son of the late William McCoy Edwards and Dezzie Taunt Edwards. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a printer by trade.
Mr. Edwards is survived by his loving family that includes his wife, Alda; and his children and their spouses, Katie Hilton, Lorrie Belk (Carl), Kevin Edwards (Chad) and Amy Jensen (Paul).
He is also survived by his loving grandchildren and their spouses, Ericka Dalton (Howard), Kat Wilkinson (Chris), Timothy Belk (Kimberly), Andrew Belk (Jonah) and Leila Jensen; as well as nine loving great grandchildren.
There will be a private service for close family and friends from the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans in honor of James' status as a veteran.
