James “Weldon” McCarty, 95, of Charlotte, passed away on November 3, 2011 at the Carriage Club. Mr. McCarty was a professor of Textile Engineering at Georgia Tech for more than 25 years. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ethel; his daughter, Gail Stem and her husband Thayer of Charlotte; as well as his nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the Carriage Club Health Care Center for all their excellent care of Mr. McCarty over the years.
