Jana Carole Devore

Our beloved Nana Jana has passed away comfortably and surrounded by family on February 22, 2026. Jana Carole DeVore (nee Curran) was the heart of our family and brought us together to celebrate life in so many ways. She was an avid reader, an experienced knitter of scarves and loved to talk to anyone she met; wherever she met them. Jana loved to travel and visited the island of Bon Aire over 20 times for a yearly vacation; Paris was her favorite European location and she also visited more exotic locales such as Russia and Vietnam. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jana was highly intelligent, self-educated and constantly sought to increase her knowledge. The myriad of facts she knew made her a formidable opponent in the many trivia games played by her family. She was a dedicated worker and rose from secretary to Director of Human Resources within Medical Services of America.

Jana is preceded in death by her parents Eleanor and John Curran and her son Gregory John DeVore.

She is survived by her beloved husband Ronald DeVore and daughters Deborah DeVore and Cheryl Beste (husband Martin Beste). She was blessed with six grandchildren- Joshua Tolley, Jeremiah Tolley, Lauren Barrett, Alyse Howard (husband Kevin Howard), Kayla Houser (husband Todd Houser) and Jordan Smith. She was doubly blessed with thirteen great-grandchildren - Troy Faulkner, Natalie Tolley, Anabelle Faulkner, Grayce Tolley, Austin Tolley, Silas Cousins, Jackson Tolley, Harper Howard, Emerson Howard, Ashton Barrett, Avery Barret, Nora Houser and June Houser.

A memorial service to celebrate Jana's life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of McEwen Funerals & Cremations at Forest Lawn West with the visitation at 2:00 PM prior to service. Condolences may be submitted at www.forestlawnwest.com
