Jane Manning Armstrong

“Nanny Jane” cherished times spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, traveling, crafts and volunteering at her church. She was a devoted member of Thrift United Methodist Church for 55 years.

Jane is survived by a daughter, Alice Armstrong Nance (Jim); a son, Claude Dixon Armstrong; granddaughter, Ashton Nance Tattersall (Jason) of Jackson Hole, WY; grandson, Nicholas Allen Nance (Trista) of Raleigh; and her great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claudius P. Armstrong.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region and Mecklenburg Healthcare Center for their compassionate care of “Miss Jane”.

A service to celebrate the life of Jane Manning Armstrong will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 22nd at Harry and Bryant Company, 500 Providence Rd., Charlotte. The family will receive friends from 2:00-2:45 p.m. prior to the service. Interment at Forest Lawn West will be private.
