Jean Buckham Cuff

Jean, born in Hollis, New York on April, 27, 1927 was the daughter of the late Walter S. and Gladys D. Buckham and the sister of the late Shirley Lanigan of Florida.

After graduating from Sewanhaka High School in Floral Park, NY in 1945 she married her high school sweetheart, Robert, in 1947. They were married for 59 years until his death in 2007.

Jean went to work for Chase Manhattan Bank before she and Bob moved to Charlotte in 1958 where they raised their 3 children. In 1969 Jean went to work for Microtron Abrasives in Pineville, NC and retired from there in 1994 after 24 years.

Jean loved to sing and was a member of the Queen Charlotte chorus of the Sweet Adelines for over 30 years. Jean was a member of the Lioness Club and a volunteer at the Sweet Repeat store in Lake Wylie.

Jean is survived by her 3 children: Bonnie F. Johnson (Jim) of Belmont, NC, Brian Cuff (Nancy) of Tega Cay, SC, Dale Cuff (Kathy) of Steele Creek, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on December 3, 2023 at 2PM at the Pineville Chapel of McEwen Funeral Service, 10500 Park Rd., Pineville, NC with visitation to follow.
