Jean Morgan Dennis

A daughter of the late Robert Lee Morgan Sr. and Eloise Hartline Morgan, Jean was a graduate of West Mecklenburg High School where she played basketball and participated in many other school activities. She joined the public library while in the third grade and remained an active member throughout her life.

A member of Homestead United Methodist Church on Old Mt. Holly Road, Jean spent most of her career with the underground piping business.

Jean was preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael Lee Dennis; sister, Faye Morgan Holton; and brother, Woodrow “Woody” E. Morgan.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Dennis Atkinson and Lisa’s husband, Vic Smith; her grandchildren, Keli and Jose Alverado, Kyle Atkinson, and C.J. and Daniel Smith; Jean’s stepmother Aleene “G.G.” Morgan; Debra “Cuz” Holton, Tammy Rounds; and brothers and sisters, Robert Morgan and wife Joann, Sylvia “C.C.” and Bill Randell, James Morgan and Diane, Ginger Morgan and husband Brad Smith, Patty Morgan and husband Greg Stoda, and Bruce Morgan and wife Nancy; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Jean’s family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 PM Saturday, November 6th at Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive in Charlotte.
