Looking at the picture that was posted on the website is the way I will always remember Jenks, with a big smile that only Jenks could give to those he met and those he loved which was everyone. He had that special kind of love that was more pure than what we know, He never had anything bad to say about anyone because he saw the beauty of every person he met and knew. He had that childlike faith that we are told you need to know Jesus and Jenks loved Jesus with his whole heart. He could tell you about Jesus, but preferred to sing to you about Jesus, like his rendition of "He Lives" that can melt your heart and bring you to tears. He had a very talented voice and a musical heart.He always was listening to music on his record player in the early days. I can remember being at Mammaw Thomas's house and Jenks being there playing his Beatle records and singing his heart out.I think what I will remember most about him is the way he loved. I know he had a special touch from God to bless us all with that pure love. He is in heaven now and has a new body that is completely healed. He is singing with his beautiful voice and making Jesus smile. He made allot of people smile on this worldly temporary resting place, but now he is entertaining the saints in his permanent home in Heaven. Jenks was a gift to us all and I thank God for his life and how he taught us that you take people you meet and love as they are and he loved them. A sweet simple love. Only he knew how to give it, because that was him, no judgements like we do, he just accepted people as they were. That is how Jesus wants us to love and Jenks had it right all along.I hope when I go to heaven he will be there singing me in. You will be missed Jenks, I love you, Lesa Elder

I just found out that my friend, "my buddy" as we affectionately called each other passed away.  Jenks was a ray of sunshine, his smile, his infectious laugh, his personality was incomparable.  As so many others remember, Jenks would sing the great gospel message that Jesus Christ lives without inhibition and I loved that about him.  He did not care if it was politically correct or what others would think about it, he sung this song with conviction and at the top of his lungs for all to hear. I admired him for that.  Jenks you hold a special place in my heart and I'm grateful to have spent those 7 years as "your buddy".

I met Jenks when I started working at RSS which is now InReach 19 years ago and liked to hear him sing the hymn Because He lives. He was special and loved by everyone who knew him.

Jenks was different. He smiled and laughed a lot.He always had something to tell you that was good. He liked people and people linked him.I felt I was one of the Thomas family when ever they had a getogether and Jenks was there also. Jenks will be remembered by many.         Mark Frye

Jerks was a ray of sunshine in our cloudy world. He always hugged you and called your name. I've never known a more caring and happy person and probably never will. He will be missed by all that knew him, what a blessing to this world he was. Carolyn Short

I first met Jenks when I started to work at Nevins Center about 20 years ago.  My first day at work I was in the lobby at Nevins and Jenks was there also; He came over to me and told me his name and asked me what my name was.  After I told him that my name was Betty, he started to sing the beautiful song,"HE LIVES".  He threw back his head and sang this wonderful song and the way he sung it, you knew he was a very special person who had been blessed by God.  The song and Jenks touched me very much then and always after that in the 15 years that I worked at Nevins.  He certainly was filled with love and a blessing to many people.  I feel blessed just to have known him. He was always upbeat and happy.  Such a shame we all can not be that way, no matter what our circumstances may be in life.  I know he has returned to God who sent him to us and is extremely happy with everything and everybody.  Jenks lives on!

There's no one else like Jenks. I can't imagine what my childhood would have been like growing up without him. I'm so very thankful to have had him in my family and for all the things he taught me about being a good, genuine person. He really had no idea how much he taught all of us. We will miss him greatly and he will live on in our hearts and through all the fun stories and memories we have of him.

I was very sad to see that Jenks had passed,  I have an older brother whom is disabled as well and I worked for RSS many years ago.  It was very obvious to me that Jenks was loved dearly and loved others dearly a well.  I haven't seen him in over 20 years, I believe.  But, I will always rememer him.  He was a very special man.  I will keep you and your family in our prayers.

Jenks, Our blessed gift from God. He was loved by all who ever met him and he loved everyone whom he met. His loved radiated from him as he came into your presence. He will be remembered by all who met him until they pass on. I will miss my brother very much.
