Jerry and I were boyhood classmates and friends. Visiting his house was so eye opening to me, as Jerry was the first jewish person i knew. I’ve thought of him often over the years - he was such a solid, unwavering type personality and someone I admired enormously though he likely never knew. My great admiration of the jewish faith is grounded in knowing Jerry. I reached out tonight yo try to reconnect with him and am terribly saddened to learn of his passing 10 years ago. I’ll cherish the memories of our youth.

To All the Rittenberg Family,  My deepest sympathy as I just read the loss of Jerry.  I knew he was ill but just found out this morning 5/26/13 that he had passed on April 11th same day as my Mother.  Jerry was a terrific guy and so much fun and adored his family and friends. Just heard the news and so sad to learn of Jerry's passing.  I followed his chronicles thru facebook and cheered for his recovery much the same as he rooted for his Dawgs.  My thoughts and prayers are with the Rittenberg / Levy family.  May you take comfort in knowing Jerry and Mrs. Levy are together in Heaven.

I was so sorry to learn of Jerry's death.  We were so hopeful that he would somehow beat the odds!  We met in 2011 at the Hackerman-Patz Pavilion in Baltimore, while both Jerry and my son were undergoing treatment at Johns Hopkins.  You and I spent several hours conversing in the lobby (between your beloved auto races), waving as we waited for the shuttle and sharing our mutual hopes for the recovery of our loved ones.  When last I saw you, Jerry was doing well and being released to go home.  My heart goes out to you and your family as  you cope with this tremendous loss.

I am deeply sorry for your loss of such an incredible person. We all hope to have the kind of impact that Jerry had on everyone that he encountered. It wasn't until the funeral until I fully appreciated how amazing he was at making so many people feel as though they had known Jerry all of their lives. Jerry truly had a remarkle ability to connect with people. He was humble, kind, steadfast, and extremely generous. I too consider myself blessed and bettered for having known and spent even just a little time with Jerry. He will truly be missed.

I am so sad for the loss of someone that I considered a very dear friend. I was fortunate to be able to spend some time with him last weekend and to be here for the family today as we all said goodbye. If Jerry were here I would say to him "I will miss you Friend". My thoughts are with you.
