Jo Allen Vaughn

Jo Frances Allen Vaughn "Granny" of Charlotte, NC went to be with her heavenly Father on January, 27, 2018 at the age of 86. She worked many years as a seamstress for Stately Lady and Pharr Yarns. She continued sewing and making quilts for grandchildren and great grands. Her loves in life were dressing teddy bears, visiting flea markets, selling flowers and being with her family. Her favorite things to cook were Granny’s chicken-n-dumplings and chocolate cake.

Jo was a devoted wife to Amos Calvin Vaughn and mother to Lamar Vaughn (Tracee), Patricia Sue Gray (Richard), Robert Vaughn (Diane), Frankie Vaughn (Joan), and Johnny Vaughn (Sherry). She was loved and cared for by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren with number 15 on the way.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Allen and Pauline Pierce Allen; husband, Amos Calvin Vaughn; son, Robert Vaughn; grandson, Josh Vaughn; sisters, Nell Hill, Nora Allen, Sarah Huckabee; and brothers, Roy Allen and Paul Allen. She leaves behind 2 brothers, Franklin Allen (Dot) and Luther Allen (Becky)

She was a member of Crossroads Community Church for 48 years where she worked and devoted her time to teaching in Sunday school, Missionary leader, traveling with the ladies to the State Convention and Assembly. (What a wild ride!)
