Joan C. Brown

While attending the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, she met the love of her life, Michael Dillard Brown. They wed on December 27, 1954, and were happily married for 59 years. They settled in North Wilkesboro, NC, where she was a proud housewife and mother extraordinaire to their three children.

Mrs. Brown enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, cooking, college basketball, the Carolina Panthers, and attending the symphony. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her sons, Michael David Brown and his wife Heather of Charleston, SC, and Neil Conner Brown of Charlotte; loving caregiver and beloved family friend, Donna Economou and her daughters Alexandra and Lauren of Charlotte; as well as ten nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Michael Dillard Brown; her daughter, Diana Ruth Brown; brother, Kurt Conner; and sister. Lois Conner Johnson.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 6th at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Her family will receive friends at the church following the service.
