

Joe embarked on a transformative spiritual journey by engaging with the teachings of the Bible alongside the Jehovah’s Witnesses at the Gastonia East Congregation. While he was not baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses he dedicated his life to Him as he actively explored and sought to understand their beliefs.
Joe was highly creative and talented and celebrated for his visionary spirit. He had a deep passion for music, showcasing his skills on the guitar and exploring a wide range of genres. He drew inspiration from artists such as Prince, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Mayer, and Funk-Rush. In addition to his musical pursuits, Joe was an enthusiastic sports fan, passionately supporting the NC State Wolfpack and the Pittsburgh Steelers. With a beautiful singing voice, he valued the experience of attending live music concerts, which further enriched his appreciation for the arts.
Joe possesses a distinctive style that beautifully showcases his strong sense of fashion. He skillfully blends casual and formal elements, often pairing Chuck Taylor shoes with a suit and enhancing his looks with scarves and ascots, even in relaxed settings. His adventurous fashion choices set trends and reflect his vibrant personality.
Furthermore, Joe’s kindness and generosity significantly enrich the lives of those around him, helping to cultivate warm and meaningful friendships. He actively supports his elderly neighbors, regularly engaging with them and offering assistance whenever possible.
He shared a particularly close bond with his mother, filled with countless stories and moments of laughter. Her unwavering support and companionship created a strong connection, making their relationship truly special.
Joshua and Marsalis greatly benefited from their father's unwavering devotion, which was a foundation for a legacy rooted in love and kindness. His strong bonds with all four brothers were extraordinary, but his relationship with his Irish twin, Andrey, who is just 11 months younger, stood out as particularly special. Together, they exemplified the values of family and support.
When doctors inquired about his motivations for wanting to live, he shared his heartfelt wish to cherish quality time with his sons and his beloved grandson, Jaylen, whom he lovingly refers to as “Boogie.”
The outpouring of love and support for Joe during his hospital stay was heartwarming, with numerous family and friends visiting him. Throughout his final days, Joe received dedicated and compassionate attention from his devoted mother, who was by his side, ensuring he felt comforted, alongside the presence of other loved ones who brought joy to his days.
Joe Harris will be remembered with affection by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Louis Harris; his grandmother, Nora Lee Parker; and his stepfather, Howard Lee Williams.
He is fondly remembered by his loving family, which includes his devoted mother, Robbie Williams, and his two sons, Joshua Harris and Marsalis Harris. He shared a strong bond with his two uncles, Rozell Crosby, and Lynn Crosby, as well as his aunt, Roberta Harris.
Joe’s legacy continues through his brothers Andrey Harris (Deborah), Gevonnie “Chip” Harris (Carol), Karlon Harris (Max), Brian “BC” Harris (Nia), Howard Williams, Kevin Williams, and Travis Williams, all of whom reside in Charlotte, NC. His sisters Robin Crawford and Erin Jackson also call Charlotte home, while his sister Ebony Vejar resides in Italy.
In addition, Joe deeply valued his relationships, holding his nephews and nieces close to his heart while also nurturing meaningful friends
Many of Joe's cousins cherish him, and his legacy of love, creativity, and connection persists in the hearts of those he impacted. Through these meaningful relationships, Joe cultivated a supportive network that enhanced his own life and positively influenced the lives of those around him.
