He leaves behind three children by Alicia Schlosser of Fort Mill, South Carolina: Nicole (Dan) Crouthamel of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Aaron (Katie) Schlosser of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Brittney (Andrew Alexander) Schlosser of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Joel is also survived by his brother, David (Sue) Schlosser of Telford, PA; sister, Lois Rupe of Shelby, NC; and his two grandchildren, Brynn Crouthamel and Killian Schlosser. He was preceded in death by his dear siblings, Phillip Schlosser, Stephen Schlosser, and Leah Rambo.
Joel graduated from Souderton High School (PA) in 1972. He worked in water treatment to support his family and passions. He retired from Hatfield Township Municipal Authority (PA) in 2015.
Joel, The Human Jukebox, was a gifted guitarist and had the opportunity to play in numerous bands throughout his life. He especially shared his passion for music with his children, attending concerts and jamming at home and family gatherings. Most recently, since his retirement, he rocked with Late Knight Cruiser in Macungie, PA, and The Significants, accompanied by his daughter Brittney, in Collegeville, PA.
Joel loved a good road trip and spoke often of a cross-country trip out west with his brothers, Steve and Phil. He always dreamed of returning to Montana. Joel enjoyed basketball, fishing, and roller coasters. His kids have fond memories of vacations to amusement parks together to ride the tallest and fastest on the east coast.
Joel brought his musical pursuits with him to the Poconos before eventually moving to North Carolina in 2023. While in North Carolina he continued to enjoy music. Visits from his grandson were a highlight of his days.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Charter Senior Living of Charlotte for their care and compassion.
A memorial celebration will be held in the near future for family and friends.
