Big John was the glue and passion that held Bethel Park Senior High School together regardless of what day, what month, and what year.  Through ups and downs on the Campus, Big John, was there day, night, weekends, and summer months, maintaining interest and fondness for students, parents, staff, and District employees. His personality and love for us made our Campus life a more positive experience.

I was one of the lucky ones to have Mr. Andrejko for Algebra II in 1970, before he became Assistant Principal.  I respected him so much for his kindness, great smile, fairness to students, and sense of humor.  I never called him Big John or Mr. A, always Mr. Andrejko.  Maybe out of respect, and maybe because he was so tall to my 4'11'' self!  I still cherish what he wrote in my Beacon '70 yearbook: "Best Wishes to the best Algebra II student I've ever had.  Good luck. John J. Andrejko."  He may have just been being kind, and I will never forget him.  May all of his family find peace among your sorrow, knowing he impacted so many of our lives and was greatly admired.

I remember this wonderful man calling my house at 6:30 in the morning to make sure I was able to get my son out of the house and to school.  He was determined to make sure he graduated.  Thank you for all you did for all of our kids.

John was one of the most caring person I ever new we worked together on many projects especially selling Xmas trees for the Kiwanis club one great man will surely be missed 

How well I remember Big John, such a kind, fair, funny gentleman.  I knew him from working in the BPHS building #4 in the early 90s.  Each Christmas when I put out the stained glass Christmas ornaments he made for us, I smile and remember him...I will continue to do so.  Condolences to Paula and the family

John was a great principal at Bethel Park High School. He was assistant principal when I started my teaching career. He was wonderful with the students and always helped the teachers.  We both went to WVU and were both Mountaineer fans. My sympathies to his family and friends.

Very sorry to hear of Mr. Andrejko's passing.  I did not have a lot of interaction with Mr. Andrejko, but he always earned the respect of every student, through his honesty and integrity.  My most fond memory of Mr. Andrejko was when i was was in the office requesting a student parking pass, and part of the requirement was that you had an after school job.  While waiting for the approval, Mr. Andrejko came into the lobby and yelled ... "Who's the one that works at this Bethel Auto Wreckers place ?".  I stood up and said - "thats me, its a junkyard for lack of a better term, but my father owns it so i help him out after school".   He said  "well thats the most interesting after school job i have ever hear of ".    Something Ill never forget.

As a member of the Bethel Park High School Guidance Department, I have many positive memories of John. There  were numerous occasions over the years when I depended on John while dealing with students struggling with difficulties.  John was an avid listener and always showed respect and compassion for students. Throughout the years his caring devotion to his own family gave him the understanding needed to help students through difficult times. John earned the respect of faculty, students and parents alike. He understood the value of kindness and  will always be remembered for the lives he touched. John simply made our world a better place. My sincere condolences go out to Paula, Allison, John and family.

I was a science teacher in bldg. #1 at Bethel Park HS when John was principal there.  I remember his constant, big smile!  He also was a great support to me when I needed to talk about student issues.  He was stern, but fair with students and he extended grace to everyone when it was needed!  I will never forget him. John made the world a better place! My heartfelt condolences to the whole family.  May you find comfort in John 3:16.

All of his extended family back here at Beinhauer are deeply saddened to hear about John. He was one of my favorite people and someone who always had our best interest at heart. I was always hopeful that one day your family would return back to the Bethel Park area and we could reunite. Back in those days if you got caught smoking cigarettes on campus you had to go in front of the magistrate and chances are you would get fined

Well wouldn't you know it my senior year I got caught I was taken to mister A's office

He looked at me and he said so you finally got caught he says you know better than that.
He added here's what I'm going to do for you we're not going to report this and go in front of the Magistrate
You come in Saturday and pick up garbage around the school campus and we'll forget that this incident took place

I never forgot that
Mr. A. Certainly was a swell guy I thought of the years wonder how he was doing didn't realize he moved to the Carolinas

You will truly be missed sir

When I was in school at Bethel Park Senior High, Mr. Andrejko was someone EVERYONE knew. Not only because of his height (though that was a factor) but because of his kindness. His door was always open to students who needed an ear and I know I benefited from his advice. He was thrilled when I chose to attend WVU and encouraged me in that path. 
My sincerest condolences to his family members, I know he'll be greatly missed. May it comfort you to know how very many lives he touched. 

Always a great guy to deal with during my son's high school years.  I know quite a few of your gray hairs came from him.  In dealing with him he was always fair and understanding.  My son pushed the line to the breaking point but never broke it and Mr. A accepted him for who he was.  I only have good memories.  RIP and I hope sharing my memories helps to bring peace to his family.

Mike always spoke highly of John, especially since John towered over Mike!  I remember "Big John" as a fair and gracious teacher/administrator who was liked by all students.

Mr Andrejko was everyone’s favorite principal.
He took us all under his wing and let us grow up and become respectful adults.  He knew us all by our first names. Passing him in the hallway he would have that ear to ear smile as he informed us that we should be in English class now and he would walk us to our class.
How did he know all of our names and all of our class schedules?  He loved the school and all of its students.  The world is a lesser place with out him. In the same breathe the world is a much better place because of him. God Bless Mr Andrejko and his family.  🙏
