John R. Fennell

The Funeral Service will Be Held at 1:45 PM Thursday June 19th,2014 at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte. Interment followed in Sharon Memorial Park.

John was Born in Chester, SC and Grew Up in Charlotte, NC. He Graduated from Tech High School in 1953. After Graduation from High School, He Went to Work for the Telephone Company. Bell Telephone was Only Employer for 38 Years! Upon Retirement, He Continued to Work Partime with Various Phone Companies to Keep Himself Busy.

John Married, the Love of His Life, Betty in 1954. They Had an Awesome 59 Years Together. And Now They Are Back Together in Heaven.

He was a Charter Member & Faithful Volunteer of The South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church. John was also a Charter Member of the Idlewild Volunteer Fire Department in 1975/76.

In Addition to His Parents, John was Preceded in Death by his Nephew, Lane Holcombe and His Brother, Alvin C. Fennell, Jr.

John is Survived by His Sons, Eric Fennell of Charlotte and Barry Fennell of Raleigh; Sister in Law, Margaret Fennell of Hope Mills; Nieces, Patricia Fennell Carnes of Clarksville, Va and Lynn Fennell of Chapel Hill, NC. He Also Leaves Behind Neighbors Who Turned into Family, Calvin,Josh,Diane & Steve Keller, and Patricia Peroulas And The Entire ShowMars Family.
