This guest book will close in about 1 1/2 hours, so this will be my last entry here.  So many of your friends and family have posted in this book, which shows how much you are loved and missed.  There are even entries from people that have never met you, or only knew you briefly!  You made such an impact on so many, and on the entire world.  I guess it's like Cynthia said - your job here was complete.  That doesn't make things any easier for me, though!  My heart aches constantly because of your absence.  I would do anything to have just one more minute with you, to tell you how much I love you, and for a chance to say good-bye.  That's one of the most heart breaking circumstances - I never even got to say good-bye.  But, I know I will see you again one day soon, and the joy at our reunion will light up the night!  I will love you always...you live on in my heart.

John, I met you only briefly while you were here.  But from the outpouring of love that I see in this family it is very apparent you were a wonderful man.  I wish there had been more time to know you better.  May you always let your presence be felt by those whom lives you touched.  May your mom find some sense of peace and acceptance that God took you home because your job here on earth was complete.  She is hurting with the loss of you.  I pray that God will heal her hurting heart and that she will continue to be filled with loving memories of the precious time you were with her, your family and friends.  God knew what he was doing when he took you home to be with him.  He also knows that your family and friends need his strength and love to continue on.  God please bring comfort to Patti and the rest of the family while dealing with the loss of their deeply loved John.  Rest In Peace John.

Well, this is the last time I will get to post to this guest book.  I can't believe it's been 442 days since I last saw you, and that I won't see you again till God takes me home - what a joyous day that will be for me!!  I will finally get to see your handsome face and tell you how much I love you, and how I've missed you - your smile, your voice, your hugs...your thoughtful and loving manner - everything!  I remember every moment of your time here with me - I will always remember, because you gave me such joy, and taught me the meaning of true, unconditional love.  When I join you in Heaven, we'll sit and talk of all the happy times we shared, while drinking a cup of coffee!  I'm sure the coffee in Heaven is the best!  We'll find Grandpa, your Great Grandmother, Granny & Papa, and Uncles Leonard, Lloyd, Charlie, Willie...all of our loved ones...and sit and talk and drink coffee - LOL!!  I'm looking forward to that day...it's what I live for now!  Till then, just know that I love you with all my heart and soul, and miss you like crazy!  GBYAKYSCILY!

My sweet precious son, I miss you so very much.  Every second of the day you are on my mind.  I remember how much fun we used to have.  Remember when we went to the World's Fair in Knoxville?  You were too small to ride on this one ride, but Jana and I talked the operator into letting you go with us, and we rode it over and over, and over...!  And we fell in love with the Australia exhibit and went to it a few times.  Then we wanted to move there!
I'm so thankful to God for allowing me to love you for the 32 years you were with me, but it just wasn't long enough...I still need you Baby.  I will never stop loving you, and will miss you until we meet again.  ?

Today is the 400th day I've lived in this world without you...400 days  :-(  
I don't know how I've made it this long, or how I'm to go on.  Life without you is just so sad, and so wrong.  I miss you constantly; there's not a second of the day you aren't in my thoughts.  I love you more than words can express, and I will keep you in my heart forever...

When I stopped at the cemetery this morning, your little bird's wings weren't spinning.  I believe you're there with me when they spin.  After visiting with you and Grandpa for a while, I got back in my car to leave and noticed the wings had started spinning!  I asked you to send me a sign if you were really with me, so I would know I wasn't kidding myself with wishful thinking.  When I started the car and turned on the radio, Radar Love started playing!  Not only is that one of our favorite songs, but it's ultimately about a "telepathic" love, a love that doesn't need a phone or email, or text to be communicated - it is "felt"...felt between two people across the miles, or even in different planes.  That was all I needed to know without a doubt you were with me this morning!  Thank you for that...I love and miss you so much, it hurts.  I will always love you, forever and ever...

My friend John Sumo Gabriel has been gone a year, today. While a day does not go by that I do not think of him or his precious mom Patti Griffies Gabriel-Burnick, I smile instead of cry when I think of John. What a privilege to have been his friend. I love you John and I know your first year in heaven has been great for you but there is still a whole here in everyone's hearts.

I love you John John!.....I spent my whole life knowing you and now I have to spend the rest missing you! Its not fair!..keep heaven locked down up there.:-) we will all be with you soon enough! Stay by your momma and keep her strong! She needs you. And btw...I heard that song you played this morning on according to jim(keep me in your heart for a while)..thank you!..I knew at that moment you were here!!!!..but don't do it again..lol J/K do it anytime!..I love you and miss you much!

It's 11:38, December 31, 2012, just 22 minutes till 2013.  I don't understand how time can keep moving on when my world stopped 385 days ago - the day you had to leave.  I think of all the New Year's Eves we shared, how we would watch the ball in Times Square on TV, with candles burning.  I still have a hard time believing you won't be coming home - ever.  My heart breaks over and over because you aren't here.  I know you're happy in Heaven and wouldn't trade it for anything, but I sure would like to see you again, hug you and tell you how much I love, and how proud I am to have you for my son.  I'd like to see your smile, the way it would start in one corner, then slowly spread till your whole face was lit up!  I'd love to have you riding with me in the car, listening to the radio and discussing every song that played.  I just wish this hadn't happened to us, and that you were still here with me.  It's so hard living without you - you mean everything to me, you always have and always will.
It is now 12:00 a.m. and officially 2013!  HAPPY NEW YEAR IN HEAVEN, JOHN!!!  Wish you were standing next to me so I could give you a big kiss!  I'm sending one to Heaven for you, so be sure to catch it!

Hey Baby!  Because of some problem on the guest book support side, they have reinstated your guest book till January 24, 2013!  So, I have a few more days I can write to you.
We really missed you Christmas, and Christmas Eve.  Those two days were always so special...lunch at Grandma & Grandpa's Christmas Eve day, the party at Aunt Trudy's on Christmas Eve, breakfast at Grandma & Grandpa's Christmas morning, then dinner at Becky's Christmas day.  I don't go to any of these anymore...Grandma doesn't cook breakfast, or have the lunch.  We went to Hibachi Buffet for dinner yesterday.
Remember the year you broke your arm on Christmas Eve day?  Joy and Melissa had come over to Grandma & Grandpa's and you and Melissa were playing outside.  Melissa recently told me she was so scared, seeing you hurt like that!  You were 10 years old.  When Melissa came to tell me you were hurt and I ran outside, you were coming to the door and it looked like your wrist was in the middle of your arm!  We rushed to the Minor Emergency, but they said they couldn't do anything with such a bad break.  It took a while to find an orthopedic doctor working that day, then we rushed to Mercy Hospital.  Aunt Marie and Uncle Lloyd went with us.    The nurses took you back to set the bones and put a cast on it, then came back and asked me what kind of medicine they had given you at the Minor Emergency, because you were singing Christmas carols while they set your arm!  I knew it was because you were scared and hurting, and trying to cover it up.  But, after we were done there, we went ahead with all of our usual activities!  Things were so much simpler then, and of course, you were here with me.
I miss you so much.  Life will never be the same without you.  I feel like the best and most vital part of me is missing...and you are.  Oh, how I love you...Aristotle uses a mother's love for her child as the prime example of love or friendship...he had it pretty close, but it's more, much, much more.  My love for you is incomparable, unconditional, endless, deeper than the Earth's core...immeasurable. You know how I always think of you when I look at the sky, because of the time you said "No wonder God called it Carolina Blue!"?  Well, every time I look at the sky it reminds me that that's how big my love for you is, and like the sky, it doesn't come and go, but moves all around with me, wherever I go.  I know that you are always with me in spirit, but I can't help longing for you to be with me in the flesh, so I can touch you, smell you, hear you talk to me and say "I love you Mama", hear your laughter...oh John, I want you back.  It's been 380 days of pure agony since I saw you last...every day more painful than the last.  You live on in my heart...as long as I live, you will live.  I am so proud to be your Mom, and to call you Son.  I will keep you in my hear forever and always.  I love you...

This is the last day this guest book will be available, so this will be my last entry.  Today is my birthday - the second one without you - and I feel your absence so deeply today.  You loved birthdays...it didn't matter whose it was, you just loved planning a party, choosing a gift and a card, and GIVING!!  Of course, you liked it best when it was YOUR birthday!!  LOL!!  Giving is a word I've seen a lot of people use when describing you, either here or on your facebook page, and even just in talking to me.  Everyone always mentions what a giving person you were, whether it was a gift, or your love, you gave freely all that you could.  I'm so proud of you my Baby!!!  There really aren't a lot of people as generous as you.  When we had the Celebration of Your Life cookout, Brandon wore a shirt that you had given him, because when you were wearing it he said he liked it - so you took it off and gave it to him!!  People often say "he would give you the shirt off his back", and you proved it!!  I'm sure there were other times you did the same thing for others.  Kind is another word I've heard over and over in reference to you.  Kind can mean so many different things when you stop to think about it.  You were always kind to animals - I never, ever saw you mistreat an animal!  Even when Heidi bit your nose, you didn't retaliate!!!  You were kind to all of your friends - helping them do just about anything they asked you to.  And children - you loved children, and were always so kind to them, trying to teach them right and wrong, or babysitting - you would have been such a good Dad...I regret that you never had that chance.
LOVING - this is the word I've heard most often when people talk about you.  You loved everyone you knew, unconditionally.  And the love you had for me - WOW!!!   I always felt loved when you were here, and you made me feel safe after you grew up!  I was never afraid when you were with me.  I knew you would protect me if necessary, just as I would protect you.  I miss your love so much.  I miss your phone calls, even though it nagged me to death that you called me every 15 minutes sometimes!  I'd give anything now to have you call me every second.
I miss your voice.  I'm so glad I found that little alarm clock you had recorded a wake up message on!  I can listen to you whenever I feel the need.
I miss your hugs.  You gave the BEST hugs!!  Ever since you were about 12, you were taller than me, and your arms were longer, and you would just wrap me in those arms and I could feel all the love streaming from you to me.
I miss seeing you everyday.  I loved that you still lived at home, and would love to have you back.  
I just miss you, period.  I wish you were still here, that God hadn't needed you just yet.  I will always love you, forever and ever, heart and soul.  I will miss you till I get to Heaven and get to hold you again.  What a happy reunion that will be!!  I really look forward to it.  For now, I grieve every day over losing you.  You were the best son a mother could ask for.  You made me so proud to be a mom!  I thank God every day for the joy he gave me in you. 
I will see you again one day soon, and will love and miss you every second while I wait for that time.  You are always in my heart...I love you John.

Dear John, I never knew you here on Earth But I feel as though I do know you. YOU made each day special, just by being in this world.  You have touched so many lives, and made them better because of the love you shared, unconditionally.  There are so many people who love you and will always keep you in their hearts.  As for me, you never left my heart, nor will you ever! Well John, I guess you have seen Mikey by now.  This is such a hard thing for me.  And I see the world around me getting ready for Christmas.......you loved Christmas.  So, I celebrate it because it is the birth of OUR Lord and Savior.......the reason I have hope.  The reason I know I will see you again.....HIS love for us.  I pray that those who do not know him will ask Jesus into their heart, as their LORD and Savior....so they too can see you again......in heaven.  I miss all those gone on during this time, but I also know you and all those gone on would want us to celebrate the birth of Christ.  I love you and miss you, but know you are enjoying heaven at the feet of Jesus......Merry Christmas in heaven John.....

As we get closer to Christmas, I cannot help thinking of all the fun we had over the years...all the memories..the time you broke your arm, the time your house was broken into and the time Randy shook jingle bells outside my Mom's door.....the look on your face when you knew Santa was on his sleigh!  But most of all, I remember your love, unconditional love....the gifts you and your Momma gave to my kids.....cherished items before, even more so now.  Christmas in heaven for you, I can only imagine what it is like....but you know!  I miss you and love you so much.....

Hey Baby.  I miss you so much.  In French they say "tu me manques", which means "you are missing from me".  That makes so much sense, as you have always been a part of me, and still are.  But that part is missing from me, and it's so painful...308 days of unrelieved anguish and agony.  I remember all the good times we shared, but it just makes me sad to know we won't be sharing any more.  Everyone says it will get better with time, but it's only getting worse.  Like Lissa said, "You are part of the happiness I can never have again."  I will love you always and forever...???

If I would have thought that the last time I saw u was gonna be the last I would've given u a hug & a kiss & told u how much u meant 2 me. But instead I took u 4 granted like everyone tends 2 do & thought I would see u again.....I regret it each & everyday. My friend John (John Sumo Gabriel), has been gone almost 10 months and sometimes it feels like yesterday that I heard he was no longer here. He meant so much to me. It's a shame that life gets so busy sometimes and you don't make time for the people you really need to. I miss you and love you John and I will always think about you and tell all of our stories to all that will listen.

If words could only describe how much you are missed and thought of....but, there are no words that could explain the magnitude of your not being here any more.  Thank you, John John, for all the smiles, the genuine love, the gratitude, the care, the thoughtfulness, your sweet and gentle character, that you gave to each of us. Patti, just wanted to let you know I think of you everyday. That is not a lie, everyday. I can only get a glimpse of your pain through your postings and know that it is tremendous. I wish this could all be taken away. I love you. I love John and hope that I get the chance to tell him so many things one day.

I miss you more and more as each day passes.  Sometimes I find myself pretending you're still here, so I don't have to face the horrible reality.  I visit you every day.  I think of you every second of every minute, of every hour, of every day...today is the 253rd day.  I just can't believe that it's actually been that long since I saw your smile, heard your laughter, felt your hugs or heard you say "I love you Mom".  I'd give anything for just one more minute with you...Love and Miss you so much, my heart breaks over and over again every day.

I took Zane to the park today and was swinging. I could swear if I close my eyes I can see us on those old, blue swings at the park at Hillcrest trying to see who could jump the farthest from their swing. You are everywhere I go and before you passed I was always happy about these memories and would share them with whomever I was with. Now that you are gone they are bittersweet. I long to have seen you the week after Christmas and let you know how much all of it means and how much your friendship means. Love you John Gabriel.

John I dreamed of you last night. They are always such good dreams! I have had 4 since you passed away and it always makes me feel so good afterward. I try my best when I wake up to remember all the details. You are one of the biggest parts of the happiest time in my life and the fact that you are not still here makes me so sad. As long as I am alive, EVERYONE, including Zane will know how special you were and still are to everyone that knows you.

I've had you on my mind all day Baby, just like every other day.  I miss you so much.  I wish you could come back home.  I Love You.

As we drove home from Brenda and Tom's last night, I could not help thinking about you as the sun was setting, and the sky was filled with so many different colors and the clouds were so strange.  Miss you every day.....

I just found that little travel alarm clock of yours.  When I pushed play, I heard your voice!  It was so good to hear you speak, but it made me miss you even more, knowing I will never hear you speak to me again, call me Mom, or say I love you Momma. I wish I could have just one minute to spend with you, so I could tell you how much I love and miss you, and how proud I am to have you for a son...to have one more of your big bear hugs, and one more kiss...and to hear you tell me you love me, and that you're okay. You were in my dreams last night, woke me up out of a sound sleep...this morning I couldn't remember my dream and thought of you all day. I love you always.

Today is the kind of day you and I would have wanted to crack an egg on the asphalt and see if it would fry! So many good memories. Not a day goes by that something doesn't remind me of you.

Earlier today, I was thinking of all the things we used to do, from the time you were born, till the time you left.  During all that time I loved you with all my heart and soul, and I still do.  I have so many precious memories of you stored in my mind, and I can pull them out and savor them one by one.  Like the time we went to Stone Mountain NC with Uncle Randy and I git so scared!!  Or when we went to the beach - every year gave me new memories to hold on to.  I miss you so much, and it breaks my heart that we won't be making any new memories together, till I make it Home and see you again.  You are alwaYS IN MY HEART.

Took Ethan and Lilly to Tiger World yesterday.  Grandma went, too.  We had a great time!  Ethan said he remembers when you all went skiing and you went to the top of the mountain...he said it took you 2 hours to get back down!  Remember the time we all went to the beach, and stayed in my friend's rental house?  You had those plastic spiders, and you put them in everyone's bed!!!  Sure were a lot of screams that night!  I miss you so much...I still can't believe you're gone, and it's been 28 weeks.  Every day it gets a little harder to bear.  I love you more than life...

It was 11:56 a.m. on June 6, 1979 when the Good Lord gave me the most precious gift I have ever received - YOU!!  So, today is your birthday, your first one in Heaven.  I hope you and all the angels and all of our other loved ones celebrate today with Jesus as only you all can!  I miss you so much and wish you were here so I could give you a big hug and kiss, and tell you Happy Birthday face to face, and tell you how much I love you, and always will, no matter where we are, our hearts are intertwined - yours and mine, together forever. Thinking of you today Patti and remembering John John on his B-Day. I always think of me putting him in my slip, high heels and that little pony tail sticking up on top of his head when he was little. We laughed so hard!!! I remember taking him into Momma's den and her and Weezie laughing. ~ I sure can't forget taking him out that time teaching him to drive in daddy's VEGA! Lots and lots more of wonderful memories with such a precious guy with a heart that was as big as the moon. ~ Memories like these will always and forever by in our hearts and never forgotten. ~ Love you sweet cousin. Yesterday was a wonderful celebration of John's life, Patti! I'm sure John John was smiling and laughing that little giggle he always had! ~ Love you!

Sumo would've turned 33 this week, so going to celebrate his birthday with family and friends. Miss you buddy.

Had such a great time last night at the balloon release!  It was amazing sight to see and so many people were there!  What a precious thing for your Mom to do and to include us all in on the celebration.  Happy Birthday a few days early.....love you so much!!

We had a celebration of your life today.  There were over 50 people here!  A lot of your friends came.  I was really happy to see them all, and know that they came because they love and miss you.  I wish you could have been here with us, though.  I miss you so much, and love you beyond measure.

My sweet friend John Sumo Gabriel would have been 33 this Wednesday. We went to a celebration of his life tonight and how wonderful it was to see so many people that love and miss him. He has the best mom, Patti and friend Phillip Lee Blount. John, you were so much to me and so many other people. I wish I could be stronger around your mom but I just can't yet. Love you.
