He was the son of the late Sam and Lois B. Register.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty R. Giddens.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Sara; his son, Robert Samuel Register (Claudia); his daughter, Sandra Register Senter (Craig); three granddaughters; and six great grandchildren.
His family will greet friends on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, from 11a.m.-Noon at the McEwen-Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, in Charlotte, followed by his funeral service at Noon. Interment will be at Dublin Memorial Gardens, Dublin, GA.
