Hi, I was just a customer of JP's when he worked @ UBS, and I was so shocked that he was gone, that I just had to comment.  Although I only talked to him by phone, he was a person who seemed to really care about his job and his clients. He spent extra time explaining to me, (an investment-dumb person), about my accounts,  & answered all of my stupid questions so patiently.  I'm so very sorry you lost your wonderful son and may he rest in peace. You'll be together again.

As a fellow Muskie from Massachusetts I befriended JP when he was a Freshman and I was a Junior after seeing him around many of the same parties. He was always a friendly face and I loved seeing him because I knew he was always in the mood to talk Boston sports! Everytime I saw him he was always smiling and enthusiastic to see me. I’ll never forget that. I remember talking to him at Dana’s the night before his graduation as my brother was in his class. He was so excited to move to Charlotte and I’m so happy he got to experience his graduation and the fun of living in a new city. I’m absolutely gutted that he’s gone but I will always remember the good times we had and his smile. Sending love and prayers to his family and everyone who knew him. 

Our deepest condolences to JP’s close family and friends!  We are so saddened to hear this news. Just the day before the July 4th holiday JP and Josh came over to our house in Charlotte for a cook out and I had the pleasure of talking with JP for a long time. I was struck by his accomplishment in a short time after his graduation.  Exactly  two weeks later we heard this unbelievable tragedy. We will always remember JP.  We will cherish the evening we spent with JP always. May God give comfort to everyone at this difficult time!

JP was one of the most authentic people that I have ever met. He would always lift me up when I was down and root for me during the basketball season. I’m beyond Blessed to have met JP and to have called him a friend.  Every time we talked he always made me smile. A smile I’ll never forget 🙏💙

As Professor of the Xavier DCF, I really enjoyed the opportunity to work with JP.   He was part of a small group that did a fantastic job managing a $5.5 million portfolio for the University. He went above and beyond and was a great leader, mentor and friend for his fellow students. 

I’m beyond lucky to have met, befriended, and spent my four years at Xavier with JP. We started at  nights in Buenger, went on to weekends at the village, and then parties at our houses. My favorite, however, was going to the Jonas brothers concert. I don’t even know if JP listened to their music but he came anyway. JP was kind, all smiles, and never in a sour mood. It was refreshing to be around him. JP was an incredible person and touched so many lives. I know we will all miss him dearly, but I hope that we can all find comfort in the memories that we shared with JP. 

I’m lucky to have known JP for the past five years. A really good friend and an even better man. One of the smartest, computer-like minds I’ve ever met. I’m glad to have met you and glad you lived your life to the fullest. From the countless sports debates to the great memories on trips, it’ll all be remembered. Thank you for sharing some of your life with me, JP. My thoughts and prayers are with the Driers during this extremely difficult time. I miss you so much, brother. You will never be forgotten in my heart.

As evidence from all the posts, JP was an anchor of friendship to so many. Kathy and Joe you should be so proud of the man you raised. From kindergarten to now he left a lasting impression. The boys pictured here and friends  beyond are better for knowing and having JP as a friend.  He was truly a blessing. 

JP was one of my first friends at Xavier and I always felt seen by him. He would always check in and make sure I was ok and never ever missed wishing me a happy birthday. He truly listened to others when they needed to talk and always had the best words of encouragement or advice. I remember every year on his birthday he would gather his closest friends and take them to Capitol grille. He was just a true gentlemen. He was the kindest soul and I know he will be shining down on us all wether it be a rainbow after a storm or a beautiful sunset. 

What a blessing it is to have called JP a friend and brother.  JP never failed to put a smile on my face, and forever will be one of the most genuine and witty people I have ever met.  I will miss JP’s competitive camaraderie with fantasy football, his unmatched intelligence with sports, and his passion for caring for those in his life. Of recent, one of my favorite memories with JP was attending the Big East Tournament in NYC with him, and sharing a bottle of wine over some pizza before the Xavier game. My thoughts and prayers go out to all friends and family of JP and the Drier family. Love and miss you, JP.

I’m so grateful that I was able to be a friend of JPs for the last couple of years. No matter what was going on in my life at the time, he would always be there to put a smile on my face. One of my favorite memories with JP has to be one of the nights we stayed up for hours playing NBA 2k. He would always beat me… always, and if it were anyone else, I would’ve stormed off in a rage. But he was so fun and enjoyable to be around, the score never mattered to me. He will forever be one of the most caring and trustworthy people I’ve ever met. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and everyone else who knew him. I’m going to miss you brother. 

I am so grateful for the four years I got to spend with JP at Xavier. I will forever cherish all of the memories that we have together, from going on spring break, fun nights in the dorms freshman year, to weekends at his house on Carter. JP was such a kind-hearted, gentle person who always brought positive energy. Drier family, I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. Sending so much love & many prayers your way. I was honored to have shared many memories with JP throughout our time at Xavier. From standing beside him during basketball games to spending time in the dorms together during our first year, I truly learned what a genuine and true gentleman he was. Polite, wicked smart, caring and not to mention a next level 2k player, his kindness and loyalty will always be dearly remembered. Jp was such a special friend to everyone that he met. He spread nothing but positivity to everyone he interacted with. I am incredibly grateful to have called him a a friend and a brother. 

Reading through some of the messages on this site perfectly sums up the type of person JP was... selfless, funny, incredibly kind, and loved by all. Having someone in your life that will drop everything to be by your side is incredibly rare. JP was that for me. Whether it was the countless golf trips, late night driving range sessions, or our general banter over a slab of ribs, I'll never forget JP or the impact he had on me. If I can live to be half as good of a man as he was, I will have accomplished everything I need to in this world. I love you JP and miss you dearly.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Drier and Family,

I am heartbroken to learn of the loss of your wonderful son, JP. As a Smith Scholars Professor, I was privileged to teach JP for his two law courses in the Williams College of Business. I remember JP's keen intelligence, his kindness (to everyone), his unfailing politeness, and his beautiful spirit.  JP was so proud of his New England heritage and his family ~ he shared that with all of us in Ohio!  

JP was truly an outstanding young person and I felt so honored to know him during his time at Xavier.  You and your whole family are in my daily prayers and I send you my deepest condolences and prayers for God's comfort and peace.

I will always feel privileged to have gotten to spend time with JP and become close friends. He truly was one of the greatest people you could have in your life. I will always remember JP as extremely loyal, a fierce fantasy football competitor, and of course, a staunch supporter of New England sports. Go Celtics. Love you bro. 💚

Since the day I met Jp at Xavier, he was a brother to me in every meaning of the word. He coined a specific phrase “find a way” earlier this year during Xavier’s run to the sweet 16 in which we attended every game together. Jp always found a way to bring a smile to people’s faces. Things will never be the same without him. Going to miss you brother.  💙

JP was one of the best friends that we could have had. He always radiated joy and was always there to support all of us. He will be missed more than we can imagine, but his kindness and joy will never be forgotten. 

I remember not just JP's wonderful smile but also the smiles and happiness he brought to thoses who would gathered around him.  His memory, spirit, and smile will alway be with us. Staff

Having met JP through mutual friends, a plethora of finance courses together as well as in the D'Artagnan Capital Fund, I have been so thankful for his calming, energetic, and kind nature during my time at Xavier.   He was such a great friend and mentor to so many and I am thankful to have spent a large deal of time with him (especially during our 8+ hour days in the Fund working on models + the annual report - remember when the computer deleted every letter Q?).  He will be dearly missed and I am so thankful for you, JP.  Keeping you and your family + many friends in my thoughts and prayers.

JP and I met through the Smith Scholar program at Xavier. I could always rely on him to make us laugh in our group chat, help me with our finance class and always take a selfie with me while we were out :)

JP- I am so thankful to have known you and call you a dear friend. My favorite memory is the day I moved to Boston last summer and we spent the whole day exploring the city together! I remember you picking me up from the airport and taking me to the nunnery (if you know you know!) after my original apartment fell through. I am so grateful to have spent that day, and many others, with you. Praying for your family and friends. 

I met JP through Smith Scholars and he became a very good friend of mine. The last time I saw JP was a couple weeks ago in Cincy and we were on the same flight to Charlotte. I sat in the very back of the plane and he sat in the emergency exit row. He waited for the whole plane to get off for me and then insisted on walking me to my gate before he left, and it was already 11pm at this point. We hugged goodbye and he stayed up the rest of the night until my extremely delayed flight got into Orlando at 2am to make sure I got home safe. JP was the most stand up guy I knew, but I don’t think I have to say that because everyone knew that. Sending so much love to everyone that was lucky and fortunate enough to have known JP.
