

He was with his nephew and was under the care of hospice.
Born October 17th, 1940, he was the son of the late James McCormack, Sr. and Una McAuley
McCormack. Joe graduated from Northeast Catholic high school in Philadelphia and served 20
years in the Air Force, including 10 months in Vietnam.
After leaving the Air Force, Joe became the Marshall for the town of Blue River, Colorado until 1986. After developing health problems, Joe moved to Pensacola, Florida, where he worked for Barrancas National Cemetery until he retired. Joe was a devout catholic and was a very involved member of Cathedral of the Sacred Heart church in Pensacola, Florida.
Joe loved his large family, including his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. He is survived by
his sister Margaret “Peg” Bouchey and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in
death, by his brothers; George McCormack, David McCormack, James McCormack, Jr. and his
sister Mary McCormack Haney.
A service to celebrate Joe’s life will be held at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart church in the
coming months and he will be interred at Holy Cross Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida.
