

Josephine was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on April 23rd 1929. Mrs. Weatherly was the daughter of the late Frank Petr and Frieda Peter of Hohenbrunn, Germany, near Munich. She was preceded in her death by the deaths of her second husband, Beecher A. Evans, in 1965, and her third husband John D. Weatherly, in 1980.
Her family will greet friends on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, from 10a.m. to 11a.m., at the McEwen Funeral Service-Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC, followed by her funeral service at 11a.m. Her son, Reverend Robert Flood, will officiate. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow in the funeral home.
Most important to her were her family, especially here grandchildren. Survivors left to cherish her memory include her beloved daughter, Joyce Price and her husband Bill Price of Charlotte, North Carolina; her beloved son Robert Flood and his wife Carol Flood of Denver, Colorado; three precious grandchildren: Carly Price, McKenzie Shafer and her husband Tony, and Major Adam Flood and his wife Amy; four beautiful great grandchildren, Sarah, Nathan, Coleton Flood, and Charlotte Shafer; three brothers and one sister, Carl Frank Petr and wife Lupe Berck-Petr of Erzhausen, Germany, James W. Adams and wife Mary of Austin Texas, Adolf Peter and wife Inge of Hohenkirchen, Germany, and Beate Leidel of Ravensburg, Germany. Josephine Weatherly also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews in the US and Europe who will miss a wonderful and loving aunt.
Josephine was known by her family and friends as Jo. She was a military wife (Air Force) for 42 years and lived throughout the United States and Europe. Like her parents, Jo spoke many languages and never met a stranger. During her time as a military spouse, Jo volunteered for numerous military organizations including Military Wives Clubs and USO. Jo also worked as a Travel Director for the US Army in Munich, Germany. In addition to military activities, she was a cosmetologist for 20+ years in the US and abroad. Jo’s family and friends will remember how proud she was to be an American citizen.
