

Judith Bronson, loving mother, wife and friend, passed away on April 8, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Hickory, NC, daughter of the late Worth and Mildred Canipe Whitener. She later moved to Virginia and graduated from Annandale High School. In 1971 she, along with her late husband, founded B & B X-Ray, Inc. in Charlotte, retiring in 1996. She was a member of Cross and Crown Lutheran Church in Matthews where she was active in the Miriam Circle. She was the Vice President of Mountainbrook Garden Club and she loved to show off the “Moon Garden” in her back yard. She loved playing bridge and was a member of two bridge clubs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Bronson. Judith is survived by husband, David Shultz; her four children, Deborah Mabe and husband, Bradley of Annapolis, MD; Michael Bronson and his wife, Kim of Matthews, NC; Tom Bronson and his wife, Karen of South Lake, TX and Kimberly Wallace and her husband, Dan of Belmont, NC; nine grandchildren, Drew Liebeck, Laurel Mabe, Matthew and Mitchell Bronson, Kelsey, Hannah and Emily Bronson, Brian and Allison Wallace; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Jun Ganela of Woodbridge, VA; brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Anne Whitener of Mint Hill, NC; Goddaughter and niece, Krista Silvis; and nieces and nephews, Caitlin, Keith, Jennifer and Rick.
Active pallbearers will be Dan Wallace, Bradley Mabe, Drew Liebeck, Matthew Bronson, Brian Wallace and Mitchell Bronson. Honorary pallbearers will be Allison Wallace, Laurel Mabe, Kelsey, Hannah and Emily Bronson
The visitation will be held from 6 until 8 pm on Thursday evening, April 11, 2013 at Harry & Bryant, 500 Providence Road. A service to celebrate the life of Judith Bronson will be held at 11 am on Friday, April 12th at Cross and Crown Lutheran Church in Matthews, with Pastor Jennifer M. Ginn officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cross and Crown Lutheran Church, 300 Pineville Matthews Road, Matthews, NC 28105.
