Judith Mondy CookeMrs. Cooke, 68, of Charlotte, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, Rock Hill, SC. She went to join the love of her life, her late husband, Carl Keith Cooke, in Heaven. She was born on April 29, 1941 in Charlotte, NC, daughter of the late Earl Clinton Mondy and Nell McLaulin Mondy. Mrs. Cooke was a graduate of UNC-Greensboro, and was the Assistant Director for The Rankin Institute at The Fletcher School.She is survived by her son, Carl Keith Cooke, Jr. and his wife, Theresa Young Cooke of Fort Mill, SC; daughter, Laura Cooke Hutchison and her husband, Roy Christopher Hutchison of Charlotte; grandson, Carl Keith Cooke, III; granddaughter, Emma Elizabeth Hutchison; sister Marilyn Mondy Yike and her husband, Roger Marshall Yike of Columbus, NC; nieces, Stacy Lynn Yike of Fairfax, VA, Brenda Lee Yike of Atlanta, GA, and Alyson Elizabeth Cooke of Crestwood, KY; and nephew, Matthew David Cooke of Crestwood, KY.A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, January 22, 2010 at Christ Episcopal Church, 1412 Providence Road, Charlotte. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Blue Room of Christ Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Memorial contributions be made in Mrs. Cooke’s name to The Fletcher School, 8500 Sardis Road, Charlotte, NC 28270.Harry & Bryant Company is serving the family.
