Kathy was the daughter of John “Jack” Murphy and Mabel Wells Murphy and the widow of Bruce Martin Whealton Sr. Survivors include her daughter, Caroline Whealton, Charlotte, NC and two sons, John Whealton (Nikki), Warrenton, VA and Bruce M Whealton Jr. Carboro, NC; three grandchildren, Spenser Whealton, Emily Whealton and Olivia Whealton.
Kathy was a native of Connecticut but spent over 30 years in North Augusta, SC prior to moving to Indian Land, SC to be closer to family. Kathy was a devoted Catholic and was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in North Augusta. Kathy served as an Extraordinary Minister of Communion and was involved with the RCIA program.
A service to celebrate Kathy’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday July 17, 2021 at Westover Memorial Park, Augusta, GA. The family will be receiving friends at the French Market Grill, Augusta, GA after the service.
In lieu of flowers and gifts the family asks that a donation be made to Food for the Poor (www.foodforthepoor.org) in Kathy’s name.
