

Ken was born on August 25, 1934 in Madison, WI to the late Hugh and Helen Boylan. He graduated from Central High School and went to Loris College in Iowa on a football scholarship. After serving two years in the Army with the military police, he returned to graduate from the University of Wisconsin in 1957. He moved from Madison, to Charlotte in 1959 to begin his career with Powers and Anderson Dental Co. for nine years. In 1968 Ken became a stock broker and retired in 2007 from Wachovia.
Ken enjoyed retirement for the past seven years in the community of Sun City. His passion for entertaining, playing cards, and riding his golf cart with his grandchildren will always be remembered. He was a compassionate man and possessed unquestionable honesty, a zest for life, and a huge love for Family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Shirley Boone Boylan; daughter Brookie Cobb; grandchildren Brandon and Taylor; and great grandson Chase. Ken was preceded in death by his sister Cecilia Liddicoat and brother Bob Boylan.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, October 17, 2013 at McEwen Funeral Home, Pineville Chapel family will receive friends following the service.
