Kenneth Ray Stewart

Mr. Stewart, age 84, of Concord, formerly of Charlotte, passed away Thursday May, 31, 2012, at Avante of Concord. Mr. Stewart was born December 14, 1927 in Johnson County, NC son of the late Harvey and Nellie Norris Stewart. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Iva Stewart, a son Gerry Stewart and two sisters Louise Jackson and Rachel Price. He was a member of Eastway Baptist Church, James K. Polk Lodge#759 AF&AM, Scottish Rite Bodies and Oasis Shrine Temple. Mr. Stewart served in the Merchant Marines for nine years and the U. S. Army during the Korean War, He drove for Thurston Motor Lines for 30 years, Estes Trucking Co. and Dollar Rental Car. A Service to celebrate his life will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday June 2, 2012 at McEwen Funeral Service Chapel, 56716 Monroe Rd., Charlotte, NC 28212 conducted by Reverend Michael Owens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment with Masonic Rites will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. Mr. Stewart is survived by, son Paul Stewart and wife Wendy of Charlotte, daughter, Terry Beswick and husband Paul of Concord, Brother, Larry Stewart pf Robbins, NC, 5 grand children, Meghann Hail, Nicole Gibson, Jessica Stewart, Zachary Stewart and Nicholas Stewart and a great grandchild Carleigh Hail.
