Kevin John Gormish

Kevin was born on August 8, 1975, to Kenneth John Gormish and Gloria Jean Gormish. He grew up to become a man known for his warmth, humor, and unmistakable personality—someone who could make anyone smile and feel welcome in his presence.

A proud graduate of Bowling Green State University, Kevin was also a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity, where he formed friendships that would last a lifetime. Professionally, he was, as he liked to say, a “world-famous” insurance agent, legendary ice cream salesman, and collector of countless trophies.

Kevin had a deep love for the outdoors and was an avid fisherman who enjoyed spending time casting a line and relaxing in nature. He also enjoyed gambling and was known among friends for his seemingly unbelievable luck. A passionate sports fan, he proudly supported Notre Dame Fighting Irish football, as well as the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians—a name he continued to use long after it changed.

Kevin is survived by the love of his life, Trynie Van Ellis; his son, Tyler Michael Gormish; his mother, Gloria Jean Gormish; his sister, Kelly Jean (Bill) ONeil; and his nephews, Noah Ryan (Blake) ONeil and Christian John (Riley) ONeil. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth John Gormish.

Kevin is also remembered and deeply missed by his many lifelong friends—from his earliest school days, to his neighborhood and college years, to the countless friendships he built throughout his professional life. The impact he had on those around him will not be forgotten.

Above all, Kevin was a devoted husband, father, uncle, and son. His love for his family was unwavering, and his presence brought joy, laughter, and comfort to those around him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 28th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Home Pineville Chapel. A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
