Born on May 12, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois, Louis was the beloved son of Sandra Sosby and the late John Reynosa Sr.
Growing up, Louie “rolled with the best of them” and truly lived life to the fullest. He often reminisced about the days spent hanging on the street corners, getting into mischief with his partner “Tee,” or cooling off in the summer when the fire hydrants were opened.
In 1988, Louie relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, where he began his career with 3M. He was a loyal and dedicated employee for 37 years, working as a machine technician. After moving to Charlotte, he met the love of his life, Porzia—affectionately known as “Joe.” Louie and Porzia shared 31 wonderful years together and celebrated 24 years of marriage.
Louie had a deep love for oldies music and classic cars—he was a true old soul. Over the years, he rebuilt more than 15 cars, including 1955–57 Chevy Bel Airs, an Oldsmobile Cutlass, a 1940 Ford Coupe, and his personal favorites: 1969–72 Chevy Chevelles. His attention to detail was unmatched, and he believed cars were meant to be driven—and driven fast. Some of his happiest moments were spent in his garage, cold beer in hand, with oldies music playing in the background.
Family and friends meant everything to Louie, and he was loved by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of those closest to him.
Louis is survived by his devoted wife, Porzia Reynosa; his mother, Sandra Sosby, and stepfather, John Sosby; his brothers, John Reynosa Jr. and Josh Sosby; and his sisters, Crista Reynosa, Tammy Galvez, and Theresa Sosby. He is also survived by his nephews, Max Ricco, Nicholas Reynosa, Thiago Galvez, and Sammy Galvez; his nieces, Alexa Ricco, Danni Scarpelli, Olivia Scarpelli, and Reese Garvin; his great-nephew, Anthony Ricco; and his great-niece, Emmah Ricco. He was preceded in death by his father, John Reynosa Sr.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Louie’s honor on November 8, 2025 at 9am at McEwen Funeral Service of Pineville, located at 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC, 28210. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the following organizations in his memory:
